About the Author David Teece is a Chaired Professor at the University of California Berkeley, where he is also Director of the Institute for Management Innovation and Organization. He has over 250 scholarly publications and three honorary doctorates. He is listed as one of the World's Top 50 Leading Business Intellectuals by Accenture. He is listed by ScienceWatch as a top 10 scholar world wide in economics and business for the decade 1995 – 2005 based on citation counts. He is also lead author of the most cited paper in all of economics and business for the decade 1995 – 2005 “Dynamic Capabilities and Strategic Management”, Strategic Management Journal, 1997. Professor Teece is also the cofounder and chairman of LECG Corporation, a NASDAQ listed expert services firm with over 1000 employees world wide.
The international transfer of technology is one of the most important features of the global economy. However, the literature on it is sparse. This book encapsulates the author's contributions to this field over the last three decades and provides insights into the manner, mechanisms, and cost of technology transfer across national boundaries and the implications for (the theory of) the international firm.
