David J. Teece is a professor at the Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley where he serves as Director of the Institute of Management, Innovation and Organization. He is the author of over 150 articles and a dozen of books, many of them dealing with technology management and technology strategy. He has held academic appointments at Stanford University, Oxford University, and the University of Pennsylvania, where he received his Ph.D in Economics. He is recipient of the first Viipuri International Prize in Strategic (Technology) Management and Business Economics and identified by Accenture, the global management consulting and outsourcing giant as one of the World's Top 50 Living Business Intellectuals. Professor Teece also sits on a number of corporate boards including Canterbury International, the Atlas Funds, and I-Cap Partners. He is also Chairman of LECG, LLC, a global expert services company that he co-founded in 1988.
Pulling together some of his already published articles in management and policy, Professor Teece compiled these excellent works into Essays in Technology Management and Policy which was published in October last year.
