Kurt Wüthrich shares his time between the positions of Visiting
Scientist at TSRI and Professor of Biophysics at the Eidgenossische
Technische Hochschule Zürich (ETHZ), Switzerland. He is also Deputy
Director and a Principal Investigator in the Zürich-based National
Center of Competence in Research Structural Biology (NCCR Structural
Biology). His research interests are in molecular structural biology,
protein science and structural genomics. His specialty is nuclear
magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy with biological macromolecules in
solution.
Wüthrich has held numerous endowed lectureships and visiting faculty
appointments in the USA, Japan, India and Europe. He is a Foreign
Associate of the US National Academy of Sciences, a Foreign Fellow of
the Indian National Science Academy and a Member of the Deutsche
Akademie der Naturforscher Leopoldina. The numerous recognitions for his
work include the Stein and Moore Award, the Louisa Gross Horwitz Prize,
the Marcel Benoist Prize, the Prix Louis Jeantet de Medicine and most
recently, the Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2002.
