    CASES IN CHEMICAL PATHOLOGY
    A Diagnostic Approach(Fourth Edition)

    by R N Walmsley (ClinPath Laboratories, Adelaide) , L R Watkinson (ClinPath Laboratories, Adelaide) , & H J Cain (ClinPath Laboratories, Adelaide)

This book is the fourth edition of a highly regarded text which was first published in 1988. It introduces the reader to the interpretation of routine laboratory biochemical test results and covers all aspects of interpretative chemical pathology (including reproductive endocrinology, which was not covered previously).

The approach is based on case material from the authors' laboratory and employs algorithms and similar aids for interpretation. The material is structured so that it is comprehensible to beginners as well as being useful for the more experienced practitioners. The envisaged audience is medical undergraduates, general practitioners, clinical biochemists and laboratory technicians.

Review of the 3rd Edition: “The book is well made and attractively printed.”
    Richard T O'Kell

Review of the 3rd Edition: “… the authors cover most of the major areas of importance in day-to-day practice, with particular emphasis on renal, acid-base and ‘electrolyte’ disturbances. The cases are well presented, and the discussions concise yet comprehensive. There are helpful tables and algorithms for investigation. Rather more references are provided than is usual in books of this sort, which will be valuable to teachers and those studying for postgraduate examinations. This is a working book — it handles well and it will stay open on the desk or bench … It deserves to be widely known, and widely used.”
    W J Marshall

Review of the 3rd Edition: “This book should be extremely useful for trainees at all levels, but especially those who are starting out on the duty biochemist rota or those preparing for the case studies…”
