Monsoon Asia Integrated Regional Study (MAIRS) is a research program of Earth System Science Partnership (ESSP), focusing on the interaction among human and natural process in Monsoon Asia to support strategies for sustainable development.

This international scientific program was formally linked launched by RSSP its Open Science Conference 2006 in Beijing, China and will implement for 10 years (2007-2016).

The book series is going to present, beginning with the outputs of its rational studies, and science plan, then followed by the synthesis of results from a series of research workshops and research projects, which will not only provide latest research results for scientists working in this important area, but also knowledge base for decision makers and stakeholders in the development of strategies of sustainability of society and economy.
