About the Editor Michael Shur is Patricia W. and C. Sheldon Roberts Professor of Solid State Electronics at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He is Fellow of IEEE, Fellow of the American Physical Society, and Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of High Speed Electronics and Systems. In 1994, he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the Saint Petersburg State Technical University. In 1999, he received van der Ziel Award. Dr. Shur is doing research in semiconductor technology and high-speed integrated circuits and published many papers and books on these subjects. He is a co-developer of AIM-Spice — advanced circuit simulator — and holds many patents on electronic and photonic devices.
