The present series of books has been developed for courses in Chemistry intended for graduate students and advanced undergraduates. It assumes that the reader is familiar with calculus and basic chemistry and physics. The authors of each volume attempt to structure the lecture (or course) material in such a way that a smooth transition comes about from elementary to more complicated matters. These books can also be used by researchers who are not familiar with a particular subject, but would like to master it so that it can be used in their research.
