Starting from the Industrial Revolution, businesses have evolved in consonance with emergence of technology in every field of human endeavor. To keep pace with the changing technology, business concepts have evolved in financial engineering, marketing and advertising, and harnessing of human resources. The new century beholds new challenges for businesses — globalization, the world as an "electronic village" and climate change, to name a few. Emerging concepts include: (a) entrepreneurship, (b) knowledge management, (c) outsourcing and off-shoring, (d) innovative business models, and (e) participative approach of all stakeholders. This series aims to highlight and educate practitioners, scholars and managers about the changes that are visible in the earliest part of the 21st century and other transformations predicated for the future. Focusing primarily on developing economies, the series will highlight Asian successes and lessons for budding entrepreneurs, in the hopes of catalyzing more Asian business successes.
Authors are invited to submit original research-based manuscripts that illustrate and enlighten some of the most challenging present and future issues of conducting business in the 21st century. Book proposals will be subjected to review, and should consist of a table of contents, a summary of each chapter, a brief summary of the background and qualifications of the authors or editors, and a statement of the overall aim of the book and the expected readership.
