ION EXCHANGE AT THE MILLENNIUM
Proceedings of IEX 2000
Churchill College, Cambridge 16 - 21 July 2000
edited by J A Greig (ISP Alginates (UK) Limited)
The IEX series of conferences, which cover all aspects of the theory and use of ion exchange materials, are held on a four-year cycle at Cambridge University. They are now regarded as one of the most important forums for the state-of-the-art presentation, review and discussion of advances made in the science and application of ion exchange in the world.
The papers presented at IEX 2000 include those on ion exchange theory and those covering its application to topics as diverse as environmental and pollution control, nuclear industry, hydrometallurgy, water treatment and resin developments.
Contents:
- The Technology of Rinsing in Ion Exchange Systems (G J Crits)
-
Development of an Advanced Ion Exchange Process for the Reprocessing of Spent Nuclear Fuels Outline of the Process and Separation Behavior of U(VI) and Pu(IV) from Fission Products (Y-Z Wei et al.)
- The Enhancement of Ammonium Ion Removal onto Columns of Clinoptilolite in the Presence of Nitrifying Bacteria (L R Weatherley & R J McVeigh)
- Potentiometric Titration of Polyfunctional Ion Exchangers (V S Soldatov)
- The Use of Selectivity Coefficients to Evaluate the Efficiency of Ion Exchange Resins When Used in Columns (J Irving)
- Regeneration of a Styrenic Divinylbenzenic Strong Base Resin for Sugar Decolourisation with Calcium Chloride in a Calcium Saccharate Solution (L S M Bento & C Correia)
- Swollen-State Morphology of Hypersulfonated Ion Exchanger Catalysts (K Jerábek et al.)
- Evaluation of Metal Uptake of Purolite's Novel Weak Base and Chelating Resins (P Outola et al.)
- and other papers
Readership: Chemists and chemical engineers.
"... practitioners in the ion exchange field will have difficulties in not finding at least something that is or can be helpful for them. The book is well produced and is a good state-of-the-art record."
